Here are some ideas that I have collected that I consider "Best Practices" that should be shared with the members of ACCE.
Before Dr. Abdol Chini retired from ACCE (I will still pull him back into our group on occasion), he completed a Chair visit to Auburn. Not only did he plan it so well, but he also communicated with his team effectively and efficiently. Dr. Chini would copy me on his email messages and has agreed to let me post them here along with the accompanying documents.

Here is another BEst Practice that was in the Auburn Visiting Team Report:
From Auburn VTR report in April 2020
In the spring of 2009, the school collaborated with the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to develop a custom Executive Master of Building Construction program for engineering professionals at Fort Benning, GA. This program has since developed into a fully online program and is now open to Army Corps personnel throughout the Unites States.
With the establishment of the newly built Robins & Morton Construction Field Laboratory and as part of the latest curriculum review of the BSCI Program, a required Service-Learning class BSCI 4630 was added. This class involves hands-on construction work, meeting communities’ needs, client relations, site safety planning, cost estimating, scheduling, and oral presentations. The course focuses on construction service projects that meet identified community needs and reflects on the service activity in such a way that students gain a broader appreciation of the Built Environment, an enhanced sense of serving others, and civic responsibility. With the addition of BSCI 4360, the McWhorter School of Building Science is creating a culture of Service Learning within the school and planting the seeds of service to others that will carry into their professional careers and personal lives. This along with other high-quality extracurricular activities that are available to BSCI students have been listed as a Strength of the BSCI Program and is listed in section 11.1 – Strengths.
The McWhorter School of Building Science provides a robust Building Science education that meets or exceeds ACCE curriculum requirements. Although the school does provide education about the interdisciplinary nature of the construction industry, more could be done to mix Building Science students with students of other academic programs within the College. This has been listed as Undeveloped Potential in section 11.4 – Undeveloped Potential.
