Advancing Construction Education through AIC & ACCE

Beyond his professional role, Geno has invested countless hours into volunteer leadership, helping strengthen the bridge between academia and industry. He is well known to many in our community through his service with the American Institute of Constructors (AIC), where he most recently served as President from 2021 to 2023.

In that role, he provided vision and direction at the national level, helping the organization refine its certification pathways and reaffirm its mission to uphold professional standards in construction practice. Geno continues his service on the AIC National Board of Directors.

Within ACCE, Geno plays an equally important role. He is currently a member of the ACCE Board of Trustees. Geno has been instrumental in developing the Construction Industry Forum (CIF), held during the ACCE Midyear Conference. The CIF is bringing industry discussions to the forefront on topics such as technology, internships, mentorships, and more.

Geno is also Chair of the ACCE Council of Chairs. The Council of Chairs is the principal participant in the ACCE Self-Assessment process. The Council consists of at least five members and is composed exclusively of experienced Visiting Team Chairs who collect information during each site visit to identify best practices and areas for improvement. His contributions help new leaders gain the confidence, training, and resources needed to guide ACCE into the future. His efforts reflect his core belief: that professional organizations thrive when they prepare the next generation of leaders to carry the mission forward.

Geno’s dual commitment to industry professionalism and educational accreditation has had a lasting impact. By supporting both AIC’s credentialing programs and ACCE’s accreditation standards, he has helped raise the bar for construction education while also championing the value of ethical, certified professionals in the workforce.

ACCE Construction Industry Forum (CIF)

Genos' dedication to ACCE goes beyond his involvement as a member of the Board of Trustees, a committee member, and a member of multiple Accreditation Visiting Teams. As a co-Chair of the ACCE Industry Partnership Committee, Geno has been instrumental in raising support, content, and session speakers for the annual ACCE Construction Industry Forum, which will be held February 26, 2026, during the ACCE MIDYEAR Conference. The event will be at the Omni Las Colinas Resort & Hotel in Irving, Texas. Learn more about the event here.

In Recognition

The ACCE community is fortunate to benefit from Geno’s expertise, his leadership, and—perhaps most importantly—his willingness to give back. His career is a reminder that when industry leaders volunteer their time and talents, the entire profession grows stronger.
